At the Parkhotel Schönbrunn, you can get closer to Imperial Vienna on a very personal level. Because it is located in the carefully restored premises of the former guest house of Emperor Franz Joseph. This goes back to a Jausenstation already opened in 1787. It was then taken over in 1823 by Ferdinand Dommayer and converted into a restaurant. In the following decades there were celebrated ball nights and the house became the epitome of Vienna. Several works by Johann Strauss father and son as well as their contemporary Joseph Lanner experienced their world premiere here. From 1907 to 1908, the Parkhotel Schönbrunn was built on this very spot according to the plans of the architect Arnold Heymann. In addition to 70 guest rooms and dining rooms, it already had a ballroom and a Viennese coffee house.

Many guests of Emperor Franz Joseph I spent the following years in the first-class hotel. In 1911, the inventor Thomas Alva Edison even visited the Parkhotel. After the hotel was partly destroyed by fire in 1923, it served as a military hospital during World War II. After its end, it was until its reopening in 1954, the officers' casinos of the British occupation force. In 1963, following a fire, the hotel was extensively renovated and expanded into what was then Vienna's largest hotel complex. Austria Trend Hotel has run the hotel since 1999. In 2010 the hotel was modernized and expanded again.Rooms and suites , as well as in the restaurants, bars and conference rooms . Discover the hotel in Vienna's Schönbrunn district and experience an unforgettable stay in Vienna.
